Camp Starbright
Camp Starbright is a bereavement day camp for children ages 5-13. Children
affected by any loss of a loved one may attend. The camp is free of charge
thanks to a grant from the Tom Burnett and Moyer Foundation.
Children engage in both therapeutic and recreational activities throughout their
session at camp. Trained grief counselors, art therapists, staff and
volunteers service the camp, as well as outside entertainment from the
community. Throughout all of these activities, children learn to identify
the feelings related to their loss, and also have fun!

2008 DATES: July 14-18 or July 21-25; July 28-30 *
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with early drop-off and late pick-up
available
* Two one-week sessions begin on July 14, 2008. Children can participate
in either week. The third week is a reunion week for all campers who have
attended the first two weeks of camp as well as campers who attended in previous
years. It is another chance for the children to share their experiences
and see each other again.
Children have the capacity to grow through the experience of great loss.
It is our hope that Camp Starbright can be a place that fosters children's
spirits.
