The Center For Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Volunteer Program is one of vitality, dedication, and the opportunity to meet new and interesting challenges. With the demands of life today, most people think that they are unable to make the time to volunteer to help others. The truth is that even a person with a minimal amount of free time can enjoy the rewards of volunteering.

The Center For Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Program offers enough versatility to meet the needs of its recipients and its volunteers. You can participate on a level that is comfortable to your schedule and be assured that your contribution is of great value.

The variety of service programs offered through the Center For Hope Hospice & Palliative Care allow each volunteer to select his or her area of interest or talent. Volunteers in all areas of service are greatly needed and appreciated.

Here are some suggestions - please consider one of the following:

Patient/Family Care Volunteers
Work directly with patients and their families, offering support, companionship, and encouragement. Patient/family care volunteers usually spend 1-3 hours per week with their hospice families and remain in contact as long as those families are in the program.

Nurses
Professional nurse volunteers provide care for patients in the pre-hospice phase, support and community outreach programs.

Home Health Aides
Home Health Aides provide respite for family members and assistance with activities of daily living. Activities include bedside care, assisting with ambulating, and feeding.

Office Volunteers
You can help in one of our five offices with everything from mailings to receptionist work, depending on your skills and preference. You will find the staff appreciative and pleasant to work with.

Bereavement/Spiritual Volunteers
Volunteers attend to the spiritual needs of patients and their families within our Hospice program and often assist survivors who are participating in the bereavement program to cope with the death of a loved one.

Bilingual Volunteers
Bilingual volunteers are needed to assist the Center For Hope Hospice to communicate with individuals that otherwise may be excluded from the services due to the lack of understanding.
